I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I'm debating showing my Earth Systems kidlets Al Gore's _superbly_ done movie, but I'd like to provide the other side as a contrast so as to be able to discuss both sides and find the fallacies with Hollywood-driven research. I've been to the Internet Skeptic's website and am just not able to use his Youtube presentation on school computers. Are there other sites or resources that might provide a media format to counter the Gore movie? I need it in AV format because a barrage of facts on paper or the board are meaningless to spaced-out 9th graders. Movies and clips work best for them. Any help is appreciated. |

Tough challenge if you want to do that honestly since there's a vast conspiracy by the world's leading scientists touting what's in Al Gore's movie*. There's probably some video put out by skeptical scientists funded by Exxon Mobil. I'm sure they'd gladly send those to you. There was a PBS Nova show about global warming and IIRC there were some reputable skeptics in that show. PBS has a web page with some video and maybe it's also available to purchase. * an assumption. didn't see the movie. |

You might tell them that the last cycle of natural warming of the earth's climate made it possible for the rise of civilzation by allowing the introduction of agriculture which in turned allowed mankind to abandon it's nomadic life, wandering in search of game. Thus began the rise of cities, great nations, written language, art and civilization. But the cool aid drinkers may not be in love with the idea of great nations. |
