How many senators have been elected to the Office of President of the United States in the last 40 years? 0. The LAST was JFK. LBJ arose through VP, same with Ford. The most common denominator is state governor. Carter, Reagen, Clinton and Bush. Statistics have it out for a senator, especially a senator from a north state, to be elected. And she would have to court a southern conservative as her running mate in order to be effective. Since Richardson is the only governor in the fray, he gets the natural pole position. And if he picks Hillary as his running mate, he would be undefeatable. Just my $0.02 |
