Thought I would ask this here as well. Due to the fact that I work for the biggest bastard I have ever known here in Houston, I have started looking around for a new job. I have found a good position and they have expressed sincere interest in me joining their company in Grand Junction Colorado. Are any of ya'll from there, have visited there, can give me any real world reviews aside from what I have found on the chamber of commerce website. What is the cost of living like, how are the schools, are they a fire arms friendly place? Thanks, neomastino |
Oh texas is full all right Of illegals ![]() obviously, they have never been to west texas, about the only thing it has too much of is mesquite. |
| are the company's initials DL? I have some friends that worked in Grand Junction and they loved the town. They liked its location in CO but hated the company they worked for. They both quit....well one quit and the other is in the DFW area working from home. IM me if it is Datalog and I can give you some more information. Hell, IM me anyways and let me know what the companys name is and maybe I can find out some more from my friend that currently lives there. Good luck either way. |
No No we can't until "they" start leaving, we can start allowing some correct people in At least 2 people must leave before 1 good person can be allowed in I think this is very reasonable. |
BozemanMT says CO is full hhmmmmmmmmmmm
|
Native coloradoan. Born raised and almost all my life here. Went to Montana got hooked on guns, started with that name, i should change it. But Montana has a saying 'Quit trying to change stuff, we were doing fine before you got here, we'll be doing fine when you leave" it's an excellent saying. personally I would stop them all at the Front Range and the Nevada border for any of the states. Just flat not allowed. The West used to be great, now ti's becoming just like the east ![]() And you know what, I liked Colorado a lot better with a whole lot less people. The more interesting thing is all the replies in the affirmative, I'm not the only one. |

Talk to the guy that started this thread. He lives in Florida and is moving to Grand Junction soon. He may have done some research that could help you. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=536646 |
I second. |
Sorry, forgot to add the smiley You and I traded some IM's so I knew you were from CO and went to MT. I agree that the place is nicer with fewer people. I have always claimed that CO wouldn't be a half-bad state if we got rid of all the people +/- 15 miles of I25 from Fort Collins to Pueblo, present company excluded of course. SRM |
Present company excluded of course.

worked there for five months, you work in oil field related business? its not a bad place. its got cliffs, rivers, a great place to fish on a place called "the mesa" redlands national park, less than an hour from moab, very dry desert like climate very firearms friendly. my friends and i used to drive 10 mins outside of town and cut a bee line to the cliffs and shoot all day (you will live at sportsmans warehouse) land is public so if you find a place w/ no one around and feel like popping of a clip or 9 go ahead carry in your car is legal w/ out a permit. however you cannot carry your AR w a round in chamber. cost of living is a lot more than Texas, and there seems to be a massive influx of kali refugees. wasnt there long enough to get a house. not a bad a place. i like colorado as a state. except right now outside denver where im at its - 8 degrees. the snow is crazy. i get to come home in 4 months though and i am looking forward to that. out in junction you will also be 4 hrs or a little more from all the good ski resorts. (a small drive for those from Texas) |
montana is my second favorite state to Texas i have family up there and go up there all the time. its an old school state for sure. colorado is ok. denver area is kind of shitty though. way liberal, lots of shitty drivers. |
Give it a couple of years, it has already begun, and MT will be completly invaded by the liberals from Cali just like they did WA and OR. It's happening all over the country. |
yea i noticed a little bit of that last time i was up there didnt MT also vote Dem across the board? (I heard the conservative vote was lacking) i hate how all these douche bags leave kali bc it sucks soooo much, but when they get to where they are going they begin to try and change the new state to the way kali is. it makes no sense to me. (not trying to thread hi jack - GJ, CO is a great place give it a look) |
THats why just moving to a "gun friendly" state is futile. It will just be a matter of time before a liberal invasion comes to you. I choose GJ because of the research I did demographic and geographicly. I'll just fight from within. ![]() I've been to CA, AK, FL, GA, SC, NC, TN, VA, NY, VT, PA, MD, and NJ. I choose Grand Junction, for many reasons. |
That pisses me off too, if you like it that way so much GO BACK!!!! Don't read too much into Dems in Montana, Montana has a very strong Democratic party history. (unions in the mines) |

Check your map!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you really want to live a few miles from Fruita and next to Fruitvale? Honestly, I have been through there several times recently and think the area (landscape) is beautiful. (But then again, I love the rockies and the desert) However, you must bear in mind that the winters are extremely harsh. But, you aren't that far from the ski "super resorts" like Vail. |

It's worth looking into. Gun Friendly, it's in the middle of vast wilderness areas. so off-roading and shooting opportunities are plentiful. It's a pretty small town, if that matters to you. Cost of living is more than you would think for a remote city, but less than the coasts. Like the rest of CO, beautiful scenery, sunshine almost everyday, and occasional snow and ice. |
That's pretty funny. Now show him a photo looking to the South of I-70. |
I used to travel ALOT for work awhile back. No other place really got my attention like CO. It amazed me how glad I was to finally get back home everytime. There's a reason for all the "go away" sentiment though. When I was a kid I remember them coming to actually pave the road in front of our house. It was a pretty big deal back then. Now it's called "Saudi Aurora" and with the exception of a few holdout neighborhoods is really goin down the tubes. We have illegals EVERYWHERE. I've never seen so many since I spent time in San Diego and it's all been in the last 5-10 years. The growth has been insane and really screwed up the real estate market. Houses are insanely priced, though in the metro area the bubble is beginning to burst. Denver has it's own neat little AWB. The new Gov may try to push that state wide. Our family has owned a big chunk of land in Southpark since I can remember. Used to be the middle of nowhere, now it's surrounded by development. Still a great place, but if it slides much more.... |
