I bought some stuff off of the EE and was told it shipped last Saturday, the 7th,  via priority mail 2-3 days from Pa to here in NY. Normally when I have something shipped from PA on a Saturday it arrives here at latest Tuesday. Today is Thursday and still no sign. There has been a few fill in postal delivery people on and off for the past week or so. At what point with priority mail do you decide that it could of been lost in transit or such and take the next step. What would be the next step in getting this straightened out??

I dont think USPS will even start tracking a package until it is 90 days late. Hopefully it will show up soon.

Yea, we have run into some problems shipping to APO's, USPS is not a highly motivated organization.

At what point do I request that the seller refunds the money for the purchase in your opinion?

That is up to you but I would say the middle of next week, he should at least be able to provide you with some type of proof of shipment receipt to ease your mind is he is legit.

How does the seller know you never got the package?

Back in November, I had a package sent to me by Priority Mail from North Carolina. It took the USPS nearly a month to deliver it.

The contents of the package? 200 4th century Roman coins.

Damn, I would have been one PO'd SOB, glad they showed up though. Do you have a pic of one?

For future use I tend to get a usps tracking number on stuff so I know where it is or is not.

UPS automatically tracks their stuff I think.

I have not dealt with fed ex.

USPS takes a long time before they will check one of their money orders as well.  I like how easy it is to cash a postal money order and ship from the same place but the USPS could really use some actual competition in the letter delivery category.

And yeah the tracking number costs more money, it has been well worth it since I started just tracking everything I ship to someone.

I paid the seller for the item which included shipping so i'm not sure if he has a tracking number or not but I know how the post office is that why i'm trying to get on top of this package dilema before everybody forgets about it.

They weren't real expensive, but expensive enough that I wasn't looking forward to filing an insurance claim, especially considering that the package was only insured for $150, which was much less than the coins cost.

very cool, I would love to have those!

If it is not insured, why would they bother searching for it?

I have always had problems with USPS Priority Mail service.

Years ago, when I was working in Dallas TX on a 6 month contract, I asked my wife to send me some Christmas cards that I was to prepare to for my friends.  I took the USPS 2 friggin weeks, it would've move faster if I had sent it 1st class.  And to make matters worse, I blamed it on my poor wife.  I'm going to blame the USPS for breaking up my marriage.

It's just driving me crazy, it's a 4.5 hr drive between where the package was sent from to my house. For it to take almost a week and still not be here is driving me crazy. I could of walked and picked the package up and been home by now. from now on no more USPS. I am boycotting them
