Ok, we've all heard about for the last week, we just saw the President's speech, so....will it work? Here is an article articulating what Nouri Al-Maliki is promising to do regarding the militias belonging to various religious groups. He's promised to crackdown on them before. Will he do it this time? Will he be a man of honor and do what he says? Or is it more smoke blown up our asses? Iraqi PM Cracks Down on Shiite Militiamen And if he does live up to his word, about no political bullshit interference, will we have more battles like Najaf, and Fallujah in our future. Not the gun and run tactics, but toe to toe, knock down, drag out street battles? I remember our fight with the Mahdi Army in that cemetary in Najaf a few years back. It wasn't pretty.
