i don't think such a beast exists.

i used kazaa and bearshare back in the day. i got lots of bugs on my computer.

...and then i did a whois search on the ip's i was downloading from at bearshare. i got a company name. a quick google search showed me an article stating that this company had teamed up with the RIAA to stop illegal file sharing

Bearshare sucks. I downloaded it recently. Great selection, fast downloads, but they're stored on Bearshare. You have to become a member, and pay for each song. Fuck that!

I miss the good old days of Napster.

yes, if you still have a version of Bearshare that works the old way... KEEP IT and do not upgrade to the new version. The old version still works like a charm.
