i wasnt around to remember it... but i belive in 1973 the truckers couldnt take the high fuel prices any longer, pulled over, and quit driving until fuel prices were brought back down. do you think this would work today? IMO the fuel companies probably line the pockets of the politicians to the point that they wouldnt help solve the problem... "ibtgise" ( in before the gas isnt so expensive crowd ) |
my understanding is its easier to produce diesel too.... but with all the people driving diesel pickups that DONT need them, its almost no wonder why... |

I remember the truckers strike. It was just the independent owner operators that participated and they eventually had to go back to work or lose their equipment to the finance companies. If I could organize the tanker drivers, I wouldn't need the rest of them. We could shut this country down in about a week. But, you can't get 5 drivers to agree on what time it is. Much less get them to commit to a strike. |
