I never heard of the "free training" thing.  I would imagine if you cough up the money, take and pass their entry course, then they'd consider dealing with you.

Have you already seached for this on their website?

yes just says the requirements, does not state any training

If it's not on their website then I do not recall where I read it.  They stated you would be employable with their company if you paid for and passed their entry course.  It was sort of a mini-basic training.  The standards were not unattainable by the average joe who exercises regularly - it did weed out slackers and couch potatoes though.

I'm sorry I don't have a reference for that info.  Good luck if you're planning on going that route.

I think you're talking about the Blackwater Academy. The idea behind it was to run through guys who had the desire but not the background to be a security contractor. I think it's six weeks and ~$25,000, but you could at one time finance it through Blackwater, where they would defer the cost of training until you completed the course successfully and were offered a job with BW. In that case, they would automatically deduct the cost of the course from your paycheck until it was paid off.

This was when they were hurting for people around the end of 2004, beginning of 2005. They are pretty well staffed up now and have people waiting in the queue to deploy, so their priorities and the program could very well have changed by now.

No.

They have the Blackwater academy that costs like 15k (or more?) that they will deduct from your paycheck over the next two years once you graduate and start working for them but the Academy is for the selected military and LEO that dont quite meet all the experience they are looking for or have been out of the game for too long.

Not trying to be rude at all, since really it just comes down to the choices we made when we were 18-22, but if someone doesnt have any military experience or equivelent LEO, what business do they really have being in a warzone?

I'd suggest Army or USMC then. BW isn't exactly hurting for manpower it seems.

especially with the amount of combat vets out there right now who have a ton of experience in the box.

I couldn't have said it better myself --so I didn't.

You need to be damn lucky to get into Blackwater even if you are overly qualified.  No way are they gonna pay to train someone when they have fully qualified applications coming out their ass already.

I seriously doubt they would accept anyone without ANY expierence.

You could pay to take the training, they want people with at least some BTDT, military or LEO.
