Had a problem with what I thought was dirty-burning ammo, now I'm thinking overlubrication of the bolt & carrier. If you overdo it on the bolt carrier, will you get a black sooty residue? How much should you put on the bolt (not the bolt face, I believe it's supposed to be dry) What about the lugs? Dry or a little bit? Besides trimming the big bristles off an AR chamber brush, what else to use for a polishing patch? Does the 223 bolt action use a different chamber brush with lut the larger bristles? Douche the bolt. Wet the bolt channel, cam pin channel, and rails in/on the carrier. The fouling WIPES off - maybe a used bore brush for the tail of the bolt (outside). No brush needed on the carrier - no metal brstled brush for damn sure. This is a very short primer meant to suffice only until you RTFM. Tate |
