If you leave any food on the plates, it gets baked right in.  Anything plastic?  Melted.  If you have to rinse everything off first, why not just spend a few extra minutes and complete the job???

Infernal machines...

Simple concept. buy the cheap ass product and they work for shit.  Buy a quality dishwasher with food grinders and they will wash whatever you put in them.

Not to H/J, but seriously, what brands and models should I look at?  Can I get one for
<$500, and can you get me a discount.

Just looked it up. Would one of the ones below have the same inherent quality as the more expensive models.  Would you recommend for or against ordering online? If for, any particular vendors you recommend?   The following is from http://www.qhaappliances.com

Bosch SHE44 Evolution Design Dishwasher 4 Cycle
The more isolated a motor is, the less its vibrations can be transferred. So we've suspended our two-pump motor to help absorb and minimize any vibration and noise, letting you enjoy your time in the kitchen whether the dishwasher is running or not.  In traditional heating elements, water falls randomly onto a coil, which warms it inefficiently and creates a hazard. By passing it through a heating chamber instead, Bosch allows the water to reach temperatures of up to 161°F safely and quickly. This means you can place plastic items in the bottom rack without fear of melting or damage.

I cannot get discounts... but a I condemned a dishwasher today and the customer looked up what a Bosch at sears is running and it was something like 500.00 or 600.00. Nice unit.
