You could, but the concept is a dedicated training weapon. There would be no way a live weapon could get into the training scenario that had not been switched over to simunition. There is no way live ammo can be fired through the weapon. There are a number of training accidents where a live weapon gets into simunition simulations. If no "real" weapons are allowed, there is no way someone can "forget" or fail to convert a weapon. You continiously teach to never point a weapon at a person, preach safe handling, then you negate all that by converting the weapon with a simunition kit and tell them to shoot each other. Very dangerous, with major safety issues if there is a failure to control all live weapons. There really is a safety issue involved! |
