So after reading a few threads about who should run as President in 08 I have a question. What are you willing to trade the 2nd Amend for?,,,because the current front runners for the Repubs suck for 2nd issues. So unless someone comes out of the woodwork gun control is going to happen after the 08 election.

To early to tell.  Plus, tigers change their stripes, especially when they hit the Presidential circuit.

Who knows yet who else will run, much less win the primary or what they will settle on for a final platform?

I am not willing to trade the Second Amendment.

Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain and Hillary Clinton can all kiss my ass in hell. Especially Rudy.

I won't vote for any of these assholes. I refuse to. I have never voted third party in a major election, but I will if these are the major cantidates.

Charlie Crist wouldn't be a bad choice. According to everything I've read he's very well spoken of by the NRA and he supports gun ownership. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Now personally, I don't think any good candidate should run because I think 08 elections are going to be a major loss for Republicans but if someone had the chance of winning I'd vote for Jeb Bush in a heartbeat.

Personally, I like Newt Gingrich. I hope he runs. He is much more in tune with the populus than say, John McCain. And he isn't out there just trying to cram his own personal agenda down everyone's throats. I don't know where he sits on the 2A though.

McCain or Guliani combined with a democratically controlled House and Senate is a recipe for disaster.

I would be estatic to  have Newt run.  He would have 100% of the base happy and won't split the party like the RINO's will.

I figure on waitting and watching for now....then stepping on the most likely canidate with both feet. So he/she understands the 2nd isn't going to be something "we" have forgotten about.

The good candidates aren't going to announce yet.  What you have now is the outsiders looking to make a name for themselves in hopes of getting a chance.

Personally, I'd like to see Haley Barber.

Just alittle food for thought.....

If the Christians [and alot of nonChristians too] can come out and ban gay marriage [that was only legal in one state] in the majority of the states. Why can't we reverse a few gun laws as well? I mean heck we're talking about a Constuitional amendment here, not just some judges opinion in a very liberal state. The media supported gay marriage as much as it does gun control and there was atlest one major "progay" movie out durning all this. Don't get me wrong what we got was good....but hardly earthshaking. Gay marriage is so dead that even Hitlery come out against it...but yet here we are worrying about another AWB...AND WORSE

Good point.  And I was wondering this and another point at 0300.

And I don't have an answer, nor do I understand why we can't fix it.

I'm hoping all the facts are in, as I like to know exactly how pro 2nd folks voted.  Probably can't find that, but may be able to find how registered Reps voted.  Maybe the Reps voted 3rd party for a variety of reasons.
This may be a project for today.

Also, what is it about guns.

The facts clearly show they're (black rifles) not a problem.  IE:  The AWB did nothing.

I know some whacked out Libtards, and all they do is spew facts about the economy, number of dead in the GWOT - facts, numbers, stats, etc

But when it comes to guns, they get all wishy washy, and start rattling off a bunch of jibba jabba that has absolutely no basis in fact.  They see a gun, and the sun goes black, they howl at the moon, and look for a human sacrifice.

It's like BRD just ain't for gun lovers.

Well not according to Repubs like Rommey and McCain...Pres Bush even put more on the Defense of Marriage Act then dumping the AWB....publicily anyway.

If I stay wrapped around the axle like I am now for 2 more years, I will be whacko.

I haven't said too much in the NUMEROUS 'we're all doomed threads,' I've been reading.

But I'll tell ya, this situation has me plenty worried.

Second time Bush POTUS- Shame on me.
Third time Bush POTUS- Shame on us ALL.  The country is FUCKED !

Looking at some of the responses above, I take it none of you guys are aware that Duncan Hunter will be running as well.  In fact, he's the only R candidate to officially announce his candidacy.

He's got a great record too.

Funny how the Libtards can read into the Constitution and "find" the right to cut a baby out of a womb, f*ck a guy in the ass, and burn the flag- yet they can't understand the clear meaning of "the right of the people to KEEP and BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT be infringed."

It's not a matter that they don't understand it....that a matter of guessing what voters are going to get their panties in a wad over. Example the antigunners are going to play up every shooting till 08. And will test the waters with a easy ban...like 50 BMGs which they will tack on to a antiterrorism bill that Pres Bush/Repubs will have to sign off on. Which of course will piss off even more Repubican voters, see you all are hoping for a great conservitive savior.....and you just had as good as you will ever see [GWB].
