Go to your local home center, get 1 or 2 garage door latches and (2-4) 1/4x1" self tapping screws. The latches engage the square holes in the vertical tracks, about 3' off the floor. You may need pilot holes for the screws, but they should already be there. Installers leave the latch(es) off when they install an opener. |
| how about simply umpluging you opener...or if you have any skills changing the code.. if it is a fairly new opener it will roll the code every time it is operated if not there will be a bunch of dipswitchs on the opener and some on you remote under the batt cover. |
| unplug it or jam it with a large bolt, run a nut a couple turns on it. do both if you are really worried. I have a lot of tools in my shop and I usually just run a bolt through one of the holes in the frame if I'm out of town a while. The door has no handle on the outside so it would be hard to get a hold of to pull on. If the maintenance folks are the type who like to snoop they probably have keys to everything anyway. |
