One year ago I was in the middle of SHTF disaster when a F4/F5 (depends on whose numbers) went through my area. 25 people lost their lives at 2:00am 11/6/05, we prayed and still pray for them. 300 homes in my immediate area were destroyed I am always the rescuer but this date I was a victim. I tried but I was overwhelmed. My preps. helped but I still feel that I could have done more. Yes I have gone to the counseling sessions for those of us who were rescuers and victims. We functioned to the level of our training, but many of us still have problems. My home was considered minor damaged because it was still standing, I have new siding, some new windows, and roof deck where debris struck it. It took five triaxle trucks to remove debris from my yard, I found lego's from somewhere where kids lived, and kids died that night. |
