What supplies do you keep in your car? What do you consider the minimum stuff someone should keep in their car or truck? This is what I have in my truck: Jumper cables (4 gauge 20') Tire repair kit 12v air pump Pliers, jack, tire iron Warning triangle First aid kit Bottled water Shop towels Cellphone 12v charger Survival blankets and a fleece blanket Ice scraper Duct tape Disposable camera Surefire flashlight Extra batteries Mag-LED 3D flashlight (can use for a club or smashing out windows too) Other Stuff I thought about but I think is overkill: Extra work gloves Tow rope Road flares Old pair of walking boots and thick socks Folding shovel A few old pieces of carpet Battery booster pack Tow strap Fire extinguisher Food |

Additional stuff that I carry around: Tube sand or cat litter (for weight in the back and traction on ice) - winter only Power / energy bars stored in an ammo can with the water (to keep critters out) Portable battery jump/light Tools for minor repairs Funnel Zip ties Oil, coolant, tranny fluid 30' logging chain Complete change of clothes (for bad weather or grungy repair work on the side of the road). Oil and fuel filters (I drive a diesel) Filter wrench |
