Right, but you dont just say "a mile isnt a mile". You have to differentiate between geographical mile and nautical mile. Otherwise, yes a "mile on land" does equal a "mile on water".

In fact, the nautical mile isnt even in the International System of Units as a measurement.

So stuff your made up measurements in your pipe and smoke them!
