quick question- ill be going to the gun range in a little bit to sight in a rifle,

i was told when i was really young to sight in a scope at its lowest power, cause if you sight it in in its highest power, when you switch it to low it wont be right....

so do you sight yours in on high power or low power?

Shouldn't matter if you have a good scope.

If your using quality glass it won't matter. However, you have it backward, always sight in at your highest magnification, then fire a group when your done at the lowest setting and make a note of any shift in your group placement.

I prefer to sight in on a highest power with AO scopes.
I usually take a few shots (like 5) at around 25 yards.
Take the average of that group and then set the adjustments based on the MOA clicks (check the owners manual) and then shoot another 5 shots.

If its pretty close, I move back to 100 yards and fine tune.
Of course, depending on the caliber, you may need to make adjustments, but this method has worked well for me over the years.

Enjoy the new glass!

You shouldn't have any problems with it.  Normally after it is zeroed shoot at both low, middle and high settings.  Also a quality scope will be able adjust to yoursettings and you can varify it by walking it 2 inches left 2 inches up, 2 inches right 2 inches down to the starting point.

It depends on the quality of the scope, and the interior design,I've seen ceap POS chinese scopes that will shift 2MOA from three power to nine power.
