I'd appreciate some opinions on pool resurfacing.

My house has an in-ground gunite pool that's currently surfaced with fiberglass.  The fiberglass is about 8-9 years old, and it's starting to crack and pull away from the gunite in several places.  It's got to go, and I don't want to repair it just to get another 1-2 years.

The options are these, with the price per linear foot (around the pool perimeter), and total:
--Plaster with 50% quartz for color ($27/ft = $2943)
--Diamondbrite with color ($33.50/ft = $3651)
--Pebbletec ($42.50/ft = $4632)

All of those prices will include another $1500 for fiberglass removal and prep, plus about $500 to have the contractor start up and brush the pool for 2 weeks after the work is done.

We want a darker blue color, and preferably one that is more durable.  I am leaning away from the Pebbletec because of the rough surface.

Which surface would you all suggest?  (While "get both" may be a good response, it's not really feasible with pool resurfacing.)

When I owned my home in Florida, my pool had Diamondcoat or Diamondbrite (Diamond something) it was the best stuff at the time the pool was installed.  I never had any problems with discoloring, cracks ect.  My parent on the other hand had a plaster coating, their pool has had to be resurfaced twice in the last 15 years.
