My family used to put on haunted houses every year.  Tons of fun, and all the money we made we gave to charities in town.  We had coffins, stocks, a guillotine, racks, a few hundred masks...you name it.  Did it for most of my childhood.  We gave it all away last year to a local group that was going to use it.  Man, I miss it.

All we have left are a couple of the masks that I wanted, the fog machine and a couple of static generators.  We gave the rest away last year to a non profit group in town.  While going through my dad's files last summer, I did find the diagrams for the mazes and such.  Talk about bringing back memories.

We love doing it and I have kids knocking on my door every night now asking if we are going to do it this year I am behind getting some of the stuff out. I am doing a flying monster this year that will fly out of the dark from over my house and swing out over the side walk.

Living in a suburban area; have had few if any trick or treators the past few years due to their being told by the local church/christian etc organizations that its the devil's holiday. I believe the other kids just go to parties now or the mall for candy. I still buy candy to give out and put out a carved pumpkin just for the fun of it, or for the stray group of trick or treaters.

Being (sadly) too old for trick-or-treating, I go to Block Party in Athens, OH (OU).

Every day alive is indeed a great day!  So I celebrate every glorious day to make the best of it!

And to celebrate, I drink beer.

i WAS going to dig up old corpses from the graveyard and lay them out on my front lawn, but the wife vetoed the idea.  so instead i'll just have to settle for dressing up in a ghillie suit and hiding in brush to scare the adults following their kids around.

I usually have a massacre of zombies.

They're out there you know... "Pretending" want candy... They'll show up at your doorstep, with their jack-o-lantern buckets and asking obscene questions like "Trick or Treat" and their looks... They just look atrocious. Blood everywhere, some look like celebrities......... Every year, it's all the same. They never learn. I mean, how can they? They're zombies.
