AR15.COM

I just got back from vacation with the family in Orlando, FL.  Here's another example of how AR15.com has warped my world:  I visited Planet Hollywood and had to go back to the car for my digital camera.  The reason?  "Because the folks at ARFCOM would love to see these!"

Clint's Peace Maker from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

The gun used to shoot Patrick Swazey in Ghost.

John Malkcovich's gun from In The Line of Fire.

Arnie's Calico Goncz Machine Pistol from Total Recall.

STG44 from James Bond: Dr. No.

The Sig from John Travolta and the Spingfield Arms 1911 from Nicolas Cage in Face Off.

I think I even managed to get a picture of the family while we were there.

I was shocked to see that all but the STG were actual firearms.  Possibly modified to fire blanks only (Brandon Lee's stunt double please report to your trailer).  But they were displayed in the open at shoulder height behind plexy-glass.

Cool pics, btw, thats a Goncz 9mm, not a Calico.

Cool... but then the plaque on the wall was incorrect.

Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney has cool stuff to look at for sure. But Bongos has better food and House of Blues has better atmosphere. Bow down before the Mouse!

So do they have the ACTUAL film props at these restaurants, or just replicas?
10/14/2006 1:44:54 PM EDT
[#11]
They're all the real deal. The collections rotate between locations, same as Hard Rock Cafe at Universal.

The plaques have "replica" in the description of some items - such as "The Fly" costume and the Terminator Costume.

Even if they're marked "replica" they're molded from the actual item or low run seconds of multiple items.

The one I went to in Florida had the real "Mother Alien"  model from Aliens.  She was about 15 feet tall, very scary.

You must be correct.  There is no way the gun on the wall was related to these:

From Calico Arms.

So, are these for sale again?  I think one of the .22 pistols would be excellent.

Don't need to be reliable.  Just need to make the lefties wet their pants.

Remember what a stud the Cage character was before getting caught.  "Come here and suck my tounge."

Clint's Peace Maker from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

In the small description.
Thought the reference to a "navy" Colt was a percussion revolver with no top strap.  Also thought his grips had some kind of silver inlay.

I think you may be right.  I need to watch the movie again.  I think Planet Hollywood needs to hire me to be their firearm authenticator .... What do you expect, they can't hire us all.  I'll just be the hive mind representative.
