My montior display has shifted to the left by 45 degrees.  I have to tilt my head to the left parralel to my key board just to post this.  It is nearly impossible to use my mouse.  Anyway,  I cant find anything in the Windows XP control panel to address this, nor on any of the buttons on my Sony monitor.

Oh yeah,  probable cause is my family of 3 kids under 7 yrs of age.

Someone please let me know how to fix this problem.  It should be easy if I only knew where to go to fix it.......

Thanks

... That's weird.

... Did it fall off your desktop and is now leaning against your reloading bench perchance?

From your description, it could be nothing other than the monitor allignment, accessable via the buttons on your screen, try some more.

What kind of graphics card?

Check the settings in the control panel or see if you have an icon in your toolbar for the card.

Model?

Type of monitor...

Were you able to swap monitors to see if it might be a video card?

Sounds like some buttons on the front of the monitor got mashed. Press 'em and see what menu comes up on top of your regular windows desktop. There should be a setting for rotation in the list somewhere.

90 degrees, not 45. :)

Someone just flipped it in yoru video card settings.

Try Ctrl-Alt-R Ctrl-Shift-R to rotate it back where it belongs.

If that doesn't do it, right click your desktop, go to properties, then advanced, and dig around.. it's in there.

ETA: ctrl-alt-R, not ctrl-shift-r.  sorry.

ETA2: I had to go look this up because I was pretty sure I got it wrong (twice), and I did.

Ctrl-Alt-UpArrow : back to normal.
Ctrl-Alt-Right: 90deg rotate.
Ctrl-Alt-Down: 180deg rotate.
Ctrl-Alt-Left: 270deg rotate.

In any case, it'll be in your videocard properties most likely, not the monitor properties/buttons.

My money is on this.

Look for something on the on screen display for geometry.
