| between apple juice and apple cider? |
Amen brother. My first 'drunk' was on fermented cider. I think I was twelve. |
So cider and juice are the same, but cider tastes MUCH better IMO. So why is cider only available certian times of the year? |
Cider is available usually only during autumn because that is when apples are harvested. Cider is made from freshly picked apples. This is when they are juiciest. Apples used for apple juice can be picked anytime, but are usually frozen, kept in cold storage or ground to a pulp mixture of apple and preservative until they can be refined. While waiting, most apples dry out, lose most of their sweetness etc. Much like if you leave an apple in the refrigerator too long. That is why you see preservatives and artificial sweeteners on the ingredients label of apple juice. |
