Hey everyone, I might be in the market for a Savage 10fp in 308 and I wanted to know what is a good price for one and where can I get it at that price. I really dont care if it has an accutrigger, I would almost prefer it didn't have one. Any help is appreciated.

I cant speak to the price, but I must suggest you buy one with the Accutrigger. The trigger IMO is up to par with most of the expensive upgrade triggers.

Get the AccuTrigger.  You won't go back to a regular trigger.

Educate me... AccuTrigger? What makes it better and how does it differ?

When I bought mine, I ended up just going through Savage's website and clicking buy now, which takes you to another link with the ffl dealers in your area and the price they will sell to you at. I got a very nice price on it that way since there was some competition amoung the dealers.

BTW- it will have an accutrigger, and you will probably like it. I freaking love mine.

Be prepared to shop for a stock. Savages' factory stocks are roughly similar to a Tapco BB gun reject

The Accutrigger is Savage's version of a factory race gun trigger. It is very easily adjusted for weight, There is no creep in the design at all, And it's very safe.

+1 on the accutrigger. Get yourself a snap cap and you can easily adjust it to your liking. I wanted to see how much adjustment there actually was....I reduced the pull so much, it would strike the snap cap on closing of the bolt. It is a very crisp and clean trigger assembly!

I love mine.  You won't go wrong with one.  I grabbed mine from Wally World (the horror) but I can't remember what I paid.

Adjusted like that it makes for a wicked lock time! You can definitely get more thrusts per squeeze!

Here's eight of them.  Take your pic.  The prices are about as low as you are going to find.

I have a Savage model 10, 26" heavy barrel, and I got it for about $450.  I got it from Target World in SW Ohio.

I love mine - cost was $810 with the McMillan A3 stock for the Savage 10FP LE 2B model. Shoots better then I shoot and very robust. Get the accutrigger I love it so much that I recently purchased a Savage MK2 .22lr bolt gun w/ accutrigger for practice similar to my .308 at less cost per round.

FYI a Model 12FV can be had for about $50 or more less than a 10FP and the only difference is the 12 doesn't have a extra sling swivel stud and doesn't have "Tactical" etched on the bolt.

+1

I have a 10FP with the accutrigger and there really is no comparison b/t this one and a standard trigger. The difference is HUGE.

I love my .308 Savage.

I bought one love it, and in my opinion it's well worth the price. The only thing that really needs to be changed is the factory savage stock.

I picked up my Savage with 20" barrel for $500 about 2 years ago.  It's the standard stock and I haven't bothered to upgrade it.  Once I get to the point where the stock is holding back my scores I'll upgrade but by then I'll be a master shooter...

I would have suggested WallyWorld, but Turners (heard of them???)  has them on sale every few months.

If you get the factory stock, Savage Shooters Forum www.savageshooters.net/Pages/Articles.html has a few articles on improving the stock, mostly by filling in the gaps in the interior with epoxy and/or metal and epoxy.  Plus the newer synthetics stocks have been improved to lessen the flexing the older versions had.

The Accu-Trigger is unbelievable.
