I have to come clean on this one...back when I was one of Uncle Sam's Joes, I had an incident...or rather a series of incidents that took place in and around D.C. 'Twas a friday evening in July many years ago when the group of dedicated Joes decided to do some night time photography on the National Mall in DC. Fortunately, one of the 4, named Clint, was at that time a press photographer for the Army and secured for the group a grab of professional 35mm film. E6 Ecktachrome and some tungsten too! We drove to Huntgington Station and caught the yellow line Metro into L'Enfant Plaza. After some serious shutterbugging, we ambled over to the Vietnam Memorial. The quiet of night became punctuated by the sounds of drunk coeds from G-town who were also visiting. At first, this disturbed our mission but we soon made contact with the inebriates. One was an over-average woman in her early 20's, sporting a bottle of adult beverage. Her friends were nothing to write home about with one highly gifted in the gravitational department. All were interested in this party of four photographers... Since I was the only one with testicles not in someone's purse, I made forward progress. At first, it was glamour shots, all driven by her motives. And I was the only one with a capable flash. But the glamour shots ended when she let the top fly. Dean was at this time a shocked witness. Dane was worried sick that his squeeze Erin would find out. And Clint was only a willing witness, supplying a model release form which the model willingly signed. The batteries in the flash got a workout and were starting to fail so I handed my camera to Dean who willingly took a picture of me and the photogenic one. Then Clint suggested a kiss for the photog and the rest is beyond rating for this board. Now I had two rolls of E6 that needed processing on a discreet basis. No way would the pervs at the PX get any joy from these rolls. Clint had an idea. He needed help per regs to run the processing AT HIS WORK so he signs me in to the facility and we spend sunday afternoon developing the slides. Since I was in a completely different unit than Clint, my Top got a call the next day and we had an issue to work out. But that was only a formality since the security officer believed the entire story... It was only after projecting them on the wall in the barracks that we noticed the ring on the model's finger. Yep, she was on her bachelorette party! And that was 1989. I still have the slides. And might post the PG rated ones in Team. |
