My phone contract is up in a couple of weeks and I was looking at a Motorola SLVR. My service is Verizon Wireless and they don't list the phone on their site. My buddy told me I can just buy a SLVR somewhere (internet, ebay, etc) 'unlocked' and the provider can just transfer my service to it... Is this true or am I confinded only to the phones on the site? |
| They currently don;t make a CDMA Motorola SLVR. You need a CDMA phone in order for it to work on the Verizon netowork. Verizon also will not activate phone that are not purchased from them. So you are pretty much stuck with the phones on the list. But if you like the SLVR check out the Motorola Q it's alot like the SLVR and it is a smart phone so if you but a data plan you can surf Arfcom for anywhere. |

if its CDMA it "should" work. Dont buy a GSM phone, it wont work on verizon. Phones from Sprint "should" work on verizons network. But, why would you do this? You wont be able to buy the $5 insurance, and you will pay out the butt for your phone if you get it on ebay. Also, the vanity wears off in a week anyways.
