A guy at work told me that he added a can of R-134a to the R-12 system in his truck. He says that the temperature of the air coming out of the vents is now at 28 degrees. I happen to think he's full of , but I don't know anything about refrigeration systems. What do you guys think?Vulcan94 |

he will have a massive failure very very soon. different pressures and completly different oil is required for the 134a. like Ron White says, "you can't fix stupid" also, both systems have different adaptors to charge the system, unless he bought a kit to change the system to 134a, but that would require changing the oil and removing old refrigerant. The discharge temperature should also only be about 50-55 degrees at the very coldest. The guy is full of shit |
I knew that there was a good reason not to mix the two together. I just changed my truck over to R-134a, so I knew about the different adaptors. Oh, and he hasn't claimed to be a SEAL.................yet! ![]() Vulcan94 |
