I just got back from New Orleans today and I got to tell you ,that city was a dump before Katrina and the loss is nothing next to the 3 hurricanes I had at my place the year before. Yes there is alot of damage and yes alot of the homes on one side of town need some work but so do alot of homes in Florida. 70% of the folks I talked to told me right to my face it's a hand out they want and never plan to fix anything. Thats all they need ,something eles to bitch about. |

I did not give to their relief and have no plans to give, even if they get hit again. No, I'm not happy to see there was so much human suffering. But none of that shit had to happen in the first place and that is what gets me. The lack of common sense was absurd; build below sea level, put off fixing the levies, half-assed evacuation despite the power of the hurricane, etc..... Mother nature has always had a way of taking a shit on the stupid. PS - The only thing I'm grateful for out of the Katrina disaster is the fact that the D-Day museum was spared. |
Pangea, That is a common misperception about NOLA always being corrupt. Until the last 30 years nola gov was never as morally bancrupted as it is now and never as perilous to its citizens as now. As evidence examine the response for Betsy vs Katrina...A world of difference. 35 years of White Flight made a HUGE difference |
I public restrooms there is always a toilet that is clogged up. NOLA is that toilet and Nagin is the clogging green chunky grogan. Some turds and toilets were simply meant to be together. |
