Anybody know anything about these guns? Are they any good? Waste of time and money?

i like them. you need to put the ace stock on it. i like the way the handle and the way they shoot. But then again i also like the ar180. the problem with the daewoo is spar parts.

i wish they would bring them back into the country again.

Amen.  I always meant to pick one up and never did... now it's hard to find one at a reasonable price.

they're reliable and good shooters, but they have no parts support, it's better to stay away from these "odd ball" rifles

get something with more parts support , something more versatile

it's no fun owning guns with no parts availability

and the DR200 is the type of gun you would be shooting a lot

all it would take is one worn extracter or cracked firing pin and your rifle would be permanently out of commission, unless you could find replacement parts [impossible]

unless you bought two rifles and used one for spare parts

If you really want one then bite the bullet and buy two. It will probably cost you around $1300 or so dollars but you should be able to even out any potential wear and have a backup.

They are very nice rifles and could have given the AR a run for its money if allowed to develop to maturity. Alas, there seems to be a resurgance in popularity as of late and some aftermarket accessories can be found at ACE and StormWerkz, and also sometime on the FALFiles boards.

The selector on the DR200 is not practical for serious use, however. Also, these rifles utilize a 1:12 barrel so choose ammo accordingly.

Love mine, although I haven't shot it.  I saw it at a gunshow recently and remembered how much fun they are to shoot.

I do not know about practicality but S. Korea is still using them.

I want one, but for the money they go for around here, I can spend it on better things.

There was one that sat in a gunshop in Tallahassee (yellow building on Monroe, for those that know) for a LONG time and it was like 1400 dollars. I kept passing it up and wish I hadn't, when I decided to get it, it was, of course, gone

I loved mine, but I sold it a couple months ago and bought a Stag Arms AR. I just didn't like the fact that parts are hard to come by.

$1400 for a postban DR200 with thumbhole stock?

you made the right decision by not buying it

that too much for a DR200 imho

if your going to spend that much, just stick with the AR15's

I love mine. Reliability is great and it shoots great! Picked mine up for $600 about a year ago and never once looked back. If you can find one for a good price, buy it!! You won't be disappointed.

Check Gunbroker and your local funshows..Morons are jackin up the price on postbans since they were banned from further import. Ive seen DR200s at plus $1K. Prebans are going for $1500+

I bought mine in 95-96 new w/factory scope rail for around $600...good luck finding one for that now.

I just sold mine at a gun show for 600.00. I see them all day long for 500-800 dollars. The only ones I see for over a 1000.00 is the prebans. Check out Gunsamerica.com

I was an SP in the USAF stationed at Osan AB, ROK when the ROK AF Air Police got them.  If my memory serves me correctly, the weapon would accept our M-16 magazines.  They looked pretty sharp, but bear in mind, Deawoo is like K-Mart when it comes to manufacturing.  They make EVERYTHING from cranes to microwaves.
