Osama Bin Laden, Al Qaeda and other extremist muslim fundamentalists hate us because they're jealous of our freedom!!! Good one Bush!  |
| What's so funny about that? It's obviously true. Radical Islamists hate free nations because our freedom makes others wish they had freedom as well, including some they are trying to hold down and opress. Freedom is the natural enemy of Islamofascists because it undermines everything they are working toward and is the biggest obstacle in their path to the goals they are trying to achieve. |
Technically they hate us because as a nation we don't worship Allah as a theocracy, because we help Israel (Great Satan Jr.) out all the time, and because we (as a country) believe that people should be allowed to do what they want instead of what the Koran tells us. But in short, yeah, they hate us for freedom. What's your theory? |

They're not jealous of our freedom. They're intimidated by it. Liberty elsewhere gives those living under a muslim dictatorship something to work for. |
If they hate us for our Freedom, then all they have to do is wait a few years and we should be greatest of friends when most of our Freedoms are gone the way of the Dodo.

Partially true. They are not jealous of our decadence and point to it to promote the idea that the West is corrupt. The decadence they point out is but a small part of our culture in the West so we need to sell the better parts AND the freedom that allows these to co-exist. The oppressive regimes in Arab lands (incl SA) need to change and for the most part they don't seem to want clerical rule (although if you listen to the MSM you'd think every Arab/muslim wants Taliban like rule....quite untrue, but believing it is key for Bush haters). Read "End Game" by Vallely and McInerney to get a glimpse of the issues.....and of course, feel free to laugh at Bush if that's necessary for your mental health. History will be kind to Bush, despite all those who wish he'd choke on a dorito and die. |

They don't give a rodent's hindquarters about "freedom" one way or another. 1) We are infidels, and their "prophet" told them to fight every one of us until we convert.  2) Their theocrats keep them stirred up against us to keep the masses' minds off of how their "brother" muslims are immensely wealthy while they live in squalor. 3) All they know about us is what they see via the media -- like old Dallas reruns -- which gives them a bizarre view of our lives. They ENVY us. Blend together: Perfect recipe for hatred. |
They are not "jealous of our freedom". Bush never said that. They despise our freedom. To them, freedom opens the door to pluralist society, equal rights for women, and the right to NOT be Islamic, if one chooses not to. I realize that you can't grasp this. That is a shame. Good luck with being not too bright. |
Ironically, I doubt these DU-type people would mind being FORCED to worship as a Muslim Cuz they don't respect freeedom anyway. Go along to get along....follow the crowd. So explaining freedom to them is entirely lost on them. |

Their educational system and society brainwashes children to see US as the Great Satan. That's why they hate US. What is the reason they make their children hate US? I think in their mind, they can't accept their general failures and botched up attempts to destroy Israel. Actually, they have been humiliated by Israel in wars and the very existence of Jewish state offends their pride. so they think, these stupid backward Jews can't be better than us. we are wayyy superior than them. Then how come Israel exists and they are well off? It must be US, the greatest nation on earth, is helping them 100%. Evil evil evil. There we go. Straight up shot of psychology. |
Jealous of our freedom? Not really. They HATE our freedom and what it allows us to do. Women are free to control their own destiny and they hate us for it. We are free to choose to worship or not worship God in any way we choose and they hate us for it. We can speak our minds and they hate us for it. And worst of all for them, the dynamic culture spawned by our freedom keeps taking root in every chink of their cultural foundations of repression. Islamic culture hasn’t evolved since the Middle Ages and now it finds itself completely incapable of competing with a free and dynamic Western culture. That’s why they hate us. |

+1. The average Ali doesn't understand or give a rip about the differences in style of government or levels of "freedom" between countries. The "they're terrorist because they're oppressed" argument is just a subtle way of expressing the marxian theory that "they're terrorist because they're poor." And no. I don't believe any amount of 'nation-building' is going to end the threat of terrorism. We shouldn't be trying to create a "free" Iraq or a "free" Iran. We should just bomb them until they can't possibly ever threaten us again. Screw what their people think of us. They're never going to love us anyways. |
No shit, but they also hate us because we don't submit to Allah or follow Islamic law, which also can be translated to hating our freedom, so he's not far off at all. I'm not the biggest fan of certain things he says myself, but that's just a dumb thing to focus on, and a lame lead-in to another boring amateur rant about oil and imperialism.

The answer to that question can go back as far as Abraham and his two sons. Or you could look at the Crusades. Then there's our support for Israel today. And of course, freedom of religion just pisses true Islamists off, because they're religion doesn't allow it. |

When we're done discussing why they hate us we need to ask "Why do they hate other Muslims?". Because they're slaughtering them in Bahgdad as I'm typing this. Children (real children, not teenaged Hezbollah fighters) were killed on soccor fields and in residential neighborhoods just today by bombs and mortars. Muslims killed by Muslim terrorists. Why? The answer is simple, they'll kill anyone who's not like them, and they'll kill anyone (even if they are like them) to force their religious law on everyone. That's the real bottom line. Everyone has to live by their interpretation of Islamic law or NO ONE is safe from them. No one, not Jews, not Christians, not Bhuddists, not other Muslims, no one. And where's the outrage over the children killed in Bahgdad? Where's the French? Where's Kofi Anan? Where is the Iranian president? Where's Jimmy Carter? Answer, they don't care, because Muslims killing Muslim children doesn't advance their political agenda. And that should tell us something important, and that is they really don't care about dead Muslim children, only about advancing their own agenda. A blind person living in a coal mine should be able to figure this out. |

not entirely true; but their concept of "freedom of will" is different then ours. They believe that you can choose what you want to do; however, they believe in pre-destination: no matter what you do, it was pre-ordained from pretty much the beginning. That means, you choose to worship a god other than Allah, it was pre-ordained. They believe Allah controls everything and nothing can go against his will. Strange enough, with that in mind, one would think they wouldn't do anything to anybody else because after all, if Allah wanted those infidels dead, he would have done it himself. |

Democracy = will of the people =! will of Allah Therefore democracy is very bad to the Muslims of later revelation. They don't want our freedom. They hate that we are allowed to act and choose for ourselves. The fact that you "hitanrun" are not a practicing Muslim is an affront to them. Therefore you should convert or die. |
psst... the only difference between that and Christianity is that Christians don't kill you for disobeying God; every Christian's goal is to follow the will of God as close as he or she can, Christianity is just vague enough on the specifics of God's will that you can do a lot of things and not have it "go against" His will. |
