Pretty agressive rotation....Pilot almost had a tail strike..Note the clearance

N701CK-N717C 74's, we also operate Kalitta Charters II with several 72's and 9's and Kalitta Charters from everything from Lears to Falcons.

If it aint broke or in check, it is flying non-stop. We are busy. ACMI and ADHOC heavy lift is where it is at.

Yours truly is in the jet in the foreground. This pic was taken about .3 seconds before the copilot over-G'ed the jet. Yeah...we kind of had to buy the maintainers a case for that one. Oh well, the chicks dug it.

Its a joke between the F15's and the small, gas limited useless F16. We can carry nearly as much gas/bombs on the left side of 1 of our jets vs their 2 ship.

The "mini" 16 was stolen from the BX an tied on our jet to make fun of them-it's really too easy

Hey DK-Prof, up until last year I think it was, I used to see two J-35's over the house here all the time.  The Draken is still one of the most elegent early jets there is, next to the Hunter and F-86.

A local company used them for testing the Navy's radar and electronic systems.  They went to Mirages though, maybe they were having a hard time getting parts.

Old school.

I love the B25, but my uncle bombed Berlin on his third and fifth missions with a B17.

Mostly he talked about the bravery of the German pilots they faced and the bravery of the English pilots.  He didn't talk much about the B17's.

But he did say that he thought the American bomber losses were under reported.

His first two B17's were shot up beyond repair and the third was shot down on a short mission south of Paris.  Everybody got out but the German fighters got one guy on the way down.

He was captured, got away and was with the French Resistance for a while.  He was afraid of the Resistance leader.  That guy had young daughters and nobody looked at them.  After the war they corresponded with him occasionally.  Some had relatives in Canada and even visited.

My uncle retired from the airlines with 36,000 + hours.  He never went back to Europe to see the places he had bombed.  My dad was on the ground in the same places my uncle had bombed.  He never wanted to go back either.  My wife and I visited a big cathederal in Cologne.  Starting about 10 feet up there were a lot of unpatched bullet strikes.  It was much as my father described it.  My uncle bombed Cologne.

Anyway, I babble, very nice pics and I'll add them to the Planes Stills folder later.

Good thread.

Next time you ask for a fire mission, you'll really get a firemission.

Might cost you a few gold memberships though.

Is that a USMC 4 bladed Cobra? Since when? How is it gonna fit on the ship's? Do they fold?

This is un-sat. The Cobra needs the "whump-whump" it is known for.

Z model, of course it folds.  The UH-1Y will have the same dynamic components.  It's a shame to lose that signature huey sound, but a stable gun plaform (finally!) will be worth the tradeoff.  Gonna be one mean mother!

It is also odd seeing a new paint job with no seep marks, boot prints and fuel soaked glove marks near panel access points and no exhaust dirt.

Here are some from this morning.  I got my dad a biplane ride for his 50th bday.  He had a great time despite the 100 degree weather.  The pilot looked to be about 50 something, it turned out he flew in WWII!

Notice how nice the canopy glass looks, too!  You only see that straight from the factory, it'll be hazed and scratched to shit in a month of use.

It will be the first Zulu model delivered to USMC.  Of course a few things are missing from that pic, but they'll be there soon.  I'm sure COLE-CARBINE will beat me to the punch with the article/link when it happens... but I got him with the pic!
