Movie had me speechless for 20 min or so. However the book was very different than the movie. Just as good, but different. Both moved me... |

Good movie.... GREAT BOOK...... The book was written at a different time, a different place.... The "Original" movie was closer to the book, but you just can't turn a great book into a great movie....most times they turn out to be okay movies, and every once in awhile a good movie.... |

one of my favorite movies/actors. my girlfriend absolutely loves the movie as well, she bought both her and I each the DVD, they've each been watched literally dozens of times. there's another Tony Scott/Denzel Washington movie coming out. Totally forgot what it's about though, DAMMIT. the preview looked pretty cool.

I liked Spy Game more than Man on Fire. But I like Tony Scott's style of film making for both. I also really liked a series of 'shorts' he did for BMW. |

Great movie. The missus had never seen it...and came wandering into the room the other day while I was watching it. She picked up just as Creasy is in the hospital. I brought her up to date and she watched RIVETED for the rest of the flick. You should have seen the look on her face when Creasy interrogates BG #1 in his car! BTW...I think Rachel Ticotin (The reporter) is hawt. |

"Well its off to the next life for you. I guarantee you won't be lonely." Great line from it! As to his style I loved the cinematography of Man on Fire however (IMHO) he did overdo it for Domino. But still don't knock the man for not producing ANOTHER mainstream style POS movie. I hand it to him just for being innovative and new. LT |

The only thing the book did better was kill off Pita. The ending made more sense in terms of "She gave Creasy his life back". I also liked how the book took time for Creasy to get back in shape. But Denzel Washington was perfect for that role. The movie was much more direct, which I liked, and cut a lot of the extraneous stuff out. I think this is a case of the book and the movie both being about equal. |
I think that Creasy was dying anyway. He never took time to heal from his intial wounds, he was just so determined to get revenge that he went right to it as soon as he woke up. He is shown bleeding and clutching his wounds throughout his revenge. Also he is always wiping his mouth, which I think is because he is bringing up blood, not a good sign. I think that Creasy had expended all of his will to live in killing everyone involved with Pita's kidnapping. I could be wrong though. |
and did you notice how carefully they made the arrest as not to harm him? |

[Denzel] Have you ever had a misfire?[/Denzel] I absolutely loved the movie. Denzel is IMHO probably the finest actor alive. I have never been disappointed in any of his portrayals. Although a few of the movies haven't been that great (Virtuosity for example) his portrayals have always been excellent. He should have a few more Oscars than he has... |

One of Denzel Washington's best movies, and he has several very good movies. Just watched Pelican Brief, a couple of weeks ago, dated but still pretty good. Training Day is also one of my favorite, a totally different character. Guess I will have to check out the MOF book. |
There is a Vanishing Point remake? Sorry for the hijack, this is one of may favorite movies even though it was made before I was born. I wonder if it will coincide with the release of the new Dodge Challenger? |
Wasn't Viggo the caqrpathian dude on Ghost Busters 2? |
Vigo was the name of the chractor but it wasn't Mortenson |
