My niece just spilled soda over my closed laptop. I cleaned it up quick, but it will not start up.

I will try a hairdryer on cool

Pop the battery out, clean with distilled water. (Must be distilled.) Assuming nothing shorted when the soda spilled, it should be OK once it dries off.

let it dry out b4 trying to boot again.  use some rubbing alcohol to get the stickiness off.  hope it isn't fried

I think it's done fer.


I think something did fry, it happened in the kitchen, I grabbed the paper towels so fast and wiped it up quick. I thought it would be fine. After I wiped it, the first thing I did was opened the battery, it was dry as a bone.

Tried to start the laptop this morning and it booted right up.  Now, I have to cancel my order with Dell
