| Is there a big accuracy difference? I wouldn't think so. I know the 16" is lighter and the 20" shoots a faster bullet. Other than that what are the differences? I will be buying a bushmaster soon and am trying to decide on which one. |

The 16" could be the "best overall" AR-15 length. There is actually little difference in velocity between a 20" and a 16" barrel. Yes the 20" is longer, but you can still use it for home-defense.It's still a light rifle, and is still compact when compared to some other home-defense weapons. My personal AR-15 has a 16" inch heavy-barrel.It's very accurate,I love it.Nothing wrong with the 20" though. Not a big accuracy difference.Good barrels=good accuracy. Look at it this way....you can't go wrong with either one!!! with the AR-15,you can have BOTH BARREL LENGTHS!!!! arn't we lucky??? *hugs AR-15* |
| I have both a shorty & a 20", both H-Bars. I find it easier to hit at distance w/ the 20", but I think that it is mostly because of the increased sight radius. (Neither rifle has optics) If I really take my time and concentrate off the bench, the shorty shoots just as small a group though. Go with what feels best to you. |
