Are all key loggers considered 'spyware' by Norton anti-virus?

Can anyone recommend a good (and free) keylogger?

Thanks in advance.

I wqon't recommend one - but I'll recommend that you familliarize yourself with the legal implications of installing one.

Summed up what I was going to say before I hit cancel.  Also, I won't recommend one because I am against keyloggers, the ramifications, nanny'ness, and such of them.

Don't know the legal aspects of a key logger, but I know they make one that plugs in line with your keyboard, and when you detach it it hooks up via USB, and viola you have logged keys.

Just to clarify, this is for my home computer.

I am just trying to be cautious about what the young ones in my home are up to.

Then you don't want a keylogger - you want Parental Supervision software such as Net Nanny.

I'll note that installing a freeware software product that carefully monitors and logs computer activity is a substantial security/privacy risk.  There are documented cases where the software quietly sends the log files to an outside IP address.  You'll want to know what you are doing.

To clarify - this device only captures typed text.  It will not record URLs visited, etc etc.

Or they could just use teh supar stealthy mouse keys...

Mostly, you will find that you need to type a URL at least once to get to a website.

If it's your property, I know of no "legal implications." (That includes employers)

Even ones in two party consent states.

You bastid.

Here's hoping I don't run across anything I'm not expecting, though.
