Hello Everyone I have a question. When you purchase a rifle or shotgun and fill out the paperwork does the gun shop do a background check on that purchase like when you buy a pistol? I live in Ohio. Dave Z |
| In Georgia, background checks are done over the telephone and take all of about 20 seconds. Sometimes, there's a delay and it might take anywhere from half an hour to three or four hours. If you've got a Georgia Firearms License (a concealed carry permit), this is accepted in place of the background check. No goofy waiting periods here either. |
