Did you try updating to the latest drivers for your video card?

Go to the control panel. system. device manager, display adapter and click uninstall and reboot your computer. Before you do that you may want to have your video card driver handy just incase it doesn't pick it back up after the reboot.

Generally an IE window will open up as the size at which the last IE window was closed.

IOW, open just one, size it as you like, then close it.  (I mean intermediate size, NOT maximized).  Close it so there are no remaining IE windows open.

If you then open a new one, it should be the size you wanted.

Open IE, it is tiny.
Grab the corners and stretch it to the size you want and where you want, or stretch it to the full screen.  Then close the window and it should reopen the same size.

Just use firefox already, get the luna 1.5.0.4 theme, remove internet explorer from your desktop, rename the firefox shortcut to Internet explorer and change the icon to the same one as IE.

Then get the Active stop button and inline autocomplete extensions.

After a little customization you'll barely notice the difference.
