Anyone have their appendix removed? I just did & it sucks ass,I can't drink beer for at least 2 wks. and can't really go anywhere for awhile.....They got me stapled up like a 50 page TPS report,damn maybe I should've hid the doc's red stapler.....

Since you were in the hospital, you probably didn't get the memo. You need a cover sheet for your TPS reports.

I had mine removed in 1990, and I didn't enjoy it too much either.

mine burst and I didn't know it in 89' so I didn't go to the ER for a couple of days, just thought I had a bad assed stomach virus, plus I didn't have insurance and didn't want another bill,

my then GF finally got tired of seeing me roll around on the floor and called my mom, aunt and uncle to help her take me in, my temp was 105, ended up with periontitus(sp), after surgery I spent several days in ICU and then to a regular room, spent a total of 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital and had to go back and get IV antibiotics for another 2 weeks, and tabs for longer,

after the surgery I had a tube up my nose that went down into my stomach that was hooked up to a pump, the nurses would come in every shift and turn it on for a little bit, that came out when I left ICU,

I also had three drain tubes hanging outta me, two were in for about a month, and about 20 something staples holding everything together,

and it was some foul smelling shit that oozed outta the tubes, it stunk so bad the nurses would open the door and windows at bandage time and when I went home the GF wrapped a wet towel around her head and had me go out on the balcony when we changed the bandages,

and they hurt like a mother fucker when the doc pulled them out a little everyday, the worst one was the one next to my sack, it felt like he was trying to pull my balls off, that tube came out before I left the hospital, the other two went home with me,

worst parts of the whole hospital stay was the pump out my stomach three times a day and right after they took me to the room, the nurse told me she needed me to pee in the bottle, I couldn't pee laying down so she was gonna do the cathider route,

well I was hurting bad enough without having a garden hose shoved up my porkchop, so I tell her to just let me get up and I'd piss, she says I can't do that, and I told her she wasn't putting in the cathider,

she leaves for a bit, coulda been longer cause I went back to sleep, but she wakes me up and says the doc ok'd it, and she has my pops and brother help me outta bed and hold me by the arms so I didn't pass out and fall down, I can remember them laughing their asses off the whole time because she put my porkchop in the bucket and tells me to piss, so I did,

I lost approx three months of work and about 40 lbs, I was working in a lumber yard and couldn't stand up for very long or pick up the sacks of concrete, so the boss told me to stay home till I could,

I did end up with 10" in scars and a bill that I still pay $10 bucks a month on.

Well, mine wasn't that bad....There was a slight peforation in the appendix,fortunately I had decided to seek medical attention before that bastard ruptured.....Shitty thing is I'm currently unemployed/uninsured,not quite sure how I'm going to pay for this stuff......I fucked up & let my temper get the best of me & quit my job back in April w/o having anything concrete lined up to fall back on....I had one offer where the owner interviewed by phone,negotiated wages,said I was hired,told me to pack my bags........Calls back later that same day & says never mind,he changed his mind

Said he couldn't hire me until July,when he purchases another drill rig.So now here I am pretty much screwed for another 6 wks.GODDAMNIT MURPHY,I HATE YOU

Rupture victim here. Fucking sucked ass... the worst part for me was the timing.
I had rented a NICE pad in New Orleans for Mardi Gras and had just slid the panties off a TOTALLY hot, 6' tall brunette w/huge tats. She was a model from New Zealand and the kind of girl that you would cut a finger off to bang.

But, the good news is that I got her contact info and she felt so sorry for me that she gave me some sympathy/get-well pussy later. Oh, and the little Doctor owned "Green Clinic" in Louisiana ripped me off so bad that the insurance company wouldn’t cover all of it.

I had mine removed back in 1990, bit I was in 10th grade at the time and seemed to heal faster than Wolverine. I was running around after a week or so and not in any discomfort.

Oh, to have my teenage metabolism back....how I miss it.

Yes when i was 19, damn near killed me. Spent 6 days and nights in the hospital. It was horrible i don`t wanna talk about it.

Well I'm 32 & I really don't think my healing process is quite what it used to be.......I think this going to be the first 4th of July spent @ the house.No beer,no running around like a crazed pyro w/fireworks= NO FUN

your appendix musta had some special situation with it...on mine, after 36 hrs of pain, went to the ER then had intestine emptied and pumped full of liquid to reveal blockage at appendix...30 minutes later was in surgery...doc made 3 holes (2 plus belly button) and used optical fiber for viewing and surgery...no cuts or major stitches...stayed in hospital 2 days (had a baggy/drain thingy during that time)..worst thing about hospital was food..YUCK..went home and roamed the house for 2 more days then went back to normal life

Strict orders no heavy lifting,running around,etc. Doc doesn't want staples ripping loose, sounds like I had the same laposcopic procedure you did........I'm feeling much better after being released from the hospital on Thursday,still sore from the staples though.I gotta go back & see the doc on the 6th.Were you stapled up or stitched up?

from memory, maybe 3-4 stitches at 3 locations...no staples...i don't recall any lifestyle restrictions...had a follow up with surgeon a week later...said it looks good and goodbye...$15K total i think..all but 250 or so paid by insurance

hell man you still thinking about that?, you act as if I don't live in the same state.

besides thats what the contract says I'll pay in the deal I worked out with the hospital in 89', plus the payments end in 09'.
