My new laptop runs Win MC ed.  It's cool as hell for everything media related, especially in conjunction with an Xbox360, BUT.... whenever i try to watch WMV movies on websites it wont play them.  I get prompted to download a plugin which turns out tho be windows media player (which i of course have).  once i download the prompted WMP plugin it says a newer version was detected on my PC and the install closes itself.

These same videos work if i d/l them to the HDD, but the problem is streaming stuff and stuff from youtube and other restricted d/l sites won't work.

Could it be that MC ed runs a different breed of WMP?  Is there a fix to make this work?

I just use media player to run all the online stuff.

ETA...In media center go to Settings, Help, Help, Pictures and Videos, Troubleshoot Video

Hope this helps.
