I am going to try to make some mead. In the destructions I got here, it says to use a fermentation lid.

I have looked on google and cannot find what this is, could I please get a little help?

for your primary fermentation, a HDPE bucket with an airlock will work fine (and eliminate the risk of a clogged airlock/carboy bomb in your living room.

Keep it cool, and in the dark. After the primary fermentation (about 3 weeks) you'll want to rack to a glass carboy. Transfer it to a sanitized carboy to get it off the spent yeast about every 3 months until it clears (best results--about 9 months to a year) and then bottle it.

Hope this helps!

try looking for a fermantion lock thats the other term for it.
Its essently a bubbler to allow excess gas out but nothing in.
