[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Played out (Page 1 of 4)

Well I'd say this thread is played out. AFAS taking pictures, yeah, right, like this is a my new hobby. I took the pics for you idiots to see what I'm talking about. I DID NOT take pics of the pantless little girl, since that would be sick, and I don't plan on going to jail for kiddie porn.We do have a Home Owners Association - but the rules are poorly written and selectively enforced. My next door neighbor's yard looks likes a washed out gully, despite living here for several years and spending thousands on landscaping - but zero effort on upkeep. Now I have these guys. If you think I'm the only the bitching, I'm not. Nobody is very pleased with these people and their killer dogs. I do believe in peoples rights. However, when you move into a certain type of neighborhood, you have an obligation to try and meet that communities standards. If you want to leave cars and refrigerators up on blocks, move to that kind of area. If you want a community with houses that get painted, green lawns and things picked up, you move there. The problem comes in when someone fails to meet the community norms. HOA's are a PIA. They all turn into Nazi's eventually. However, without them, you have random standards and behaviors. Too bad Pride and Consideration are dead in America today. For those that live on several acres and pee off their porches, more power to you. You aren't effecting your neighbors. For those that live close to others and don't upkeep their property, well, remember what comes around goes around. Don't bitch when the house next door becomes a crack house. You asked for it. Your Rights end where mine begin. If you are living on 10 acres and can't see your neighbors, have a ball. If you are living in a place where cars on blocks are the norm, join in. If you are living in a neighborhood with well cared for homes and lawns, try and respect the rest of us. If not, by enjoying your "Right" to live like trash, you infringe on our Rights for a peaceful, attractive community. Is that SO HARD to understand? |
|
Have you talked to them about it? I really don't understand why people are so adverse to talking to their neighbors to fix a problem. Just go over, and express in a polite respectful manner how you feel.
aye, when I was 3 or 4 I would occasionally drop pants and run around in my backyard while my mom tried to catch me with my shorts. |
Damned good question. Bottom line - I can't afford to piss them off, they have little to lose. Don't need to start a war. I travel a lot, and I don't need t hem harassing my wife while I'm gone. Face it, in today's society those of us that have to play by the rules are pretty hamstrung in what we can do, and the scum of the land can do anything they want, with little reprecussion I don't really care about the kid. I do care of the piles of crap, the dogs they abuse and don't care for, the unfinished house, etc.... Their pitbull ripped a neighbor's dog apart in front of the owner's kids. These trash didn't care, they were real assholes about it. |
exactly, so what's the problem? |
THe "place" is a community of $300k plus house. They had like 4 families move in together to afford it, mainly because the kid built it and couldn't sell it. We plan on moving out the country, and getting a buffer zone |
|
How times have changed When I was a young child, My sister and I would run around naked all the time in the summer. I would have been about 5 maybe and she would have been 4 My mother and grandmother took many pictures of this Now my sister is careful what pictures she takes of her newborn son getting a bath. How sad |
I can't be held accountable for things that have happened a week ago. |
|
Doesn't sound like the naked kid is actually the problem. It sounds like the naked kid is just a symptom of a larger problem fight4yourrights is dealing with. If these were nice normal neighbors whose 4 year old decided to streak in the backyard he'd probably be laughing. |
You nailed it. Thought the naked girl would make for a good thread on a sat afternoon Heck, my folks paid my brother $0.25 to streak their friends when he was 4 y/o. Heck, that's child abuse now days. Different times........ |
Yeah, I realize that now. Sorry fight4yourrights, looks like the only thing you can do now is vent. Nothing you say will bring a dramatic change to your lifestyle. So what should you do? Either learn to ignoreit/live with it. Or Move. |
|
And another thing. When they were first born, I was really careful about the pictures I would take. Now I just take all the pictures I want. Despite all the craziness in this world, we have to fight for good old fashion reasonablness. Oh, and how are you going to embarrass your kid when they are 16 if you do not take the pictures when they are 2. |
Yeah, because there wasnt any child molestors 15 years ago
|
There should be rules about that sort of shit. It should go without saying that packing people into a house like sardines just so they can afford it is a bad thing. |
|
I occasionally bitch and moan about how long my commute is, the fact that it's 20 minutes to get to the grocery store, etc. Yesterday I worked for an acquaintence in a typical housing tract of 1/8 acre lots, not going to be bitching about those things for a while. When you own a small parcel of land with lots of people within sight, you're going to see lots of people, and people are often pretty ugly. I can't see any of my neighbors from anywhere on my property, and all the adjacent lots are occupied. I'm probably considered the lowlife in my neighborhood, since I bought (by far) the cheapest house in the area, most of my neighbors have saltwater frontage, and I'm by far the youngest homeowner in the neighborhood. There are good places to be found everywhere, heck I'm right smack in the middle of the W.WA metro area. Closest neighbors tax assesment is 10 times what mine is, God I love it here. Deal with it or move, I vote move. |
They may not be zoned for multiple families |
Sounds like it's time to fill the gaps in the fence. |
I still don't see the problem. |
Yeah neither do I dude. Then again, I grew up in the south. I guess i'de be considered 'white trash' too.
|
*sigh* White trash. They ruin everything. I know exactly what you mean. I hate those damn pools too - everywhite trash home I have been to has 3 or 4. Their yards always look like crap - for god's sake, throw some seed/turf builder on those bare spots. You say they have a lot of people living there? I would check the local zoning laws - PA has some pretty strict ones. |
|
With the thread title this thread now has, this will be the most viewed thread in ARFCOM history, and more than half the posts from her on out will be about the disappointment of not seeing the naked 18 year old they thought they would see when clicking "Naked girl in the neighbor's yard - what do I do? (updated w/PICTURE!!!)" |
yeah, nothing like the busy body neighbor whining and causing problems where there are none. they're the ones who yip like a scalded dog were someone to complain about them. ![]() MYOB .....sheesh reminds me of the city folk who move to the country to get away from the city, then start making rules and changing law to be just like the city they ran away from... hate em. ![]() |
dude i feel sorry for you, they have crap all over the yard and what's up with the bare spots in the lawn? just wait till they start parking broken down cars...do you have a strict neighborhood association? ps- you need to edge and mulch that tree
|
You do realize that a certain kind of person lets their lawn look like shit, and has their yard filled up with junk, and their kids running around naked, right? And that people who pay out the ass for a nice house, pay out the ass for a nice neighborhood, with classy neighbors as well, right? |
they bought too, the bare patches say rug rat burns all over it, and I see a ton of kids toys and a ladder. Oh, my eyes. You should have moved where we regular folk can't afford then it seems if you want to be an elitist. ![]() some people just want to bitch it seems. were that my yard, I'd tell ya to MYOB. City folk. |
