What did you do before DVD's? Did you buy tons of VHS tapes? It amazes me how big of a business DVD sales have become over the last 6 years. Bigger than the pre-recorded VHS business ever was. Especially disheartening to me is that over the last 5 years, I've acquired somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 DVD's. Before that I might have had 125 VHS tapes, and 25% of those were hunting tapes. |
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD I have maybe 100. |

I had 100s of VHS tapes but most were movies recorded from HBO and similar sources. The nice thing about DVD is the availability of titles that have been out of print on VHS for a long time being made available. The downside is the fact that many titles still haven't been released on DVD. It wasn't until this year that we FINALLY got the original 1933 King Kong on DVD. |
I went on a 2 year binge that really inflated my collection. Rarely paid full price for them. Anymore I wait at least a month after the release before buying. Esp. on some TV sets. The price drops pretty quickly sometimes. Scrubs S3 released at $40, I got it for $35 2 weeks after release. |
