I had a service order to go out to Lowes and repair a fridge that was not in warranty. I get there and tell them it is not in warranty and that they will have to pay for the repair, and i take cash, check, or credit. They tell me O.K. so i find the problem, and give them a quote for the repair $234.83. They tell me they have to call manger to get approval for repair. He tells them to repair it. So i install the part it needed for repair. Afterwards I go to the lady that told me to repair it and ask how she is going to pay me. Her response was "we don't pay you, you bill us". I said " ma'am i told you before i started that I take cash, check or credit". I was very respectfull, and she just turned around and walked away from me. Im now PISSED. So I call front office on my cell, to get someone on the phone who can pay me. I got ahold of the acting store manager, he treats me like some punk kid over the phone. Then he says " i'll be back there in a minute" he sounded like he wanted to fight. I wait for him and he shows up with an attitude and tells me they are not going to pay me. Then i asked him why they called us up for service knowing it wasn't under warranty, then approving the quote i gave them for the repair. He kinda yelled who "approved that" I told him the lady that called the front office to get aproval. he told me I wasn't going to get paid. I turned around and walked away because i wanted to punch him so bad. went out to my truck to cool down. After I cooled down a little I went back in, and removed the parts I installed. They can call someone else out for repair next time. |

U mean they actually knew were the shit was!?!? Ones we go to hear on 3rd party look at u like "your hear for what"? Who called u?" My best was Home Depot Expo...showed me a refrigerator still n the box and said "there ya go" ![]() Or the free standing Ice Maker with no way to hook to water, but they wanted to know if it work ![]() Gotta love store stock calls |

After I cooled down a little I went back in, and removed the parts I installed. They can call someone else out for repair next time. Absolutely the right thing to do... Then you call the other repair outfits in town, tell them what they did to you. Just FYI, you say. |
I've dealt with that, only on a much larger industrial HVAC job. My boss is quick to put a Mechanics Lean on there building when they pull that shit. I bill you, the office gives you 30 days (unless something was setup in advance), the next 30 days you get another bill +interest. And then we lean there ass.

+1. Mechanic's Liens are the way to go. We used those on occasion when I was a "technician" in a garage. If somebody didn't pay for repair work, we locked their car up until they did, or 60 days passed, and we auctioned it for the amount of the repair. The owner would get any overage. Only happened twice in nearly 10 years, as most people would make arrangements to pay when they learned they wouldn't get their car back until they paid, and there was nothing they could do about it. |
No, the manager had left after aproving the work and i had to deal with the acting manager. |
I walked in and told them seeing as your are not paying for the work I've done im taking my parts back. |
Calling my company and starting a service order is entering into a contract, And it specifically states they will have to pay for service at the time of service. I held up my part of the contract, they did not hold up their end of it they will owe my trip charge and will be sent to a collection agency. |
Man they didn't have a clue where it was! They told me it was a Bisque fridge. it was a Stainless 1 pilled behind 3 other fridges. I had to go through every fridge there comparing serial #'s till i found it. Then it turns out the problem was it wasn't making ice, of course they do not have water hookups for it there. It had a broken mod motor, so it was easy to diagnose with out power and water. Fucking Lowes they don't have power for for the appliances or water hookups and expect you to work on them. |
Bill em and charge an extra hour labor for that. Tell them it took you an hour to write it. |
I used to work for Lowes and our biggest problem was managers sticking their damn noses where it didnt belong. Our delivery manager would tell us one thing and our assistant manager would come in and screw everything up after he had left for the day. God, I hate coporations.
