Just got finished watching Under Siege and is it just me or does Steven Segal run and salute like a girl?
|
As much as I dislike him I highly doubt you would say that to his face. Even at his age and poor physical condition he could kick most of the arm chair commando's on this site's asses. |
where do you know him from? |
|
He is, from what I understand, very much the real deal. I respect him greatly. That said, he does run "funny"--not like a girl, just funny. I would say it's similar to the difference between a whitetail deer and a mule deer--he runs like a mule deer, not graceful and fluid like a whitetail. I read a gun rag article once that painted him as a helluva shot with a 1911--a highly skilled, and true aficionado. Gotta love him! |
|
He has his own firing position that I call the Segal Weaver Modified. Watch him. He holds his gun like 2 feet to the right of his body in a weaver looking attempt. ETA I never really liked him. I dont know why. Kind of like a Nicolas Cage type of dislike. Just dont like him. |
This is one of of the reasons I too respect him. He is a gun guy. In addition, he's also the real deal in martial arts. Seagal is kind of weird to people who don't understand where he's coming from. But he's not a bad guy at all. He's just different. And many martial artists who have spent lots of time training in these traditional styles, especially those in Japan tend to become somewhat spiritual at some point in their lives. I think this is what seperates him from much of Hollywood. He's just not like most of the other people out there involved in acting and his background makes him stand out against those people. As for the way he runs, we'll all probably be running "funny" when we hit 50, if we are still in good enough shape to be able to run at all. Hehe. |
He has always ran funny |
sounds like you know him a lot better than i do, i only had occasion to spend a few hours around him. but, he did seem a little full of himself, some say he was "in character" was all. i'll take your word for it as his friend though. |
Why would I fight him, when I could shoot him? this is a gun board...... |
|
Anyone who beats his wife, constantly misrepresents himself in real life, and is too dense to realize he is the source for the world's worst movies does not deserve respect. I don't care how much he likes guns or how good he is with them. He gives gun owners a bad name. |
i said earlier that he was full of himself, mostly to not offend charging handle, who is i gather a friend of his. but yes, jackass is a much better word. i know he is very involved with peta and other groups that oppose hunting and would not be surprised at all if he was not in favor of private firearms ownership. |
|
Seagal believes there shouldn't be private ownership of firearms? I find that hard to believe, seeing as he has his own collection. If such a law came to pass, he'd have to hand over his toys too. BTW, I am not a close friend of Seagal. So don't worry about offending me. LOL. In fact, I've only met him once, while he was here in Kentucky filming Fire Down Below. Most of what I know about him is through folks in the Aikido community. BTW, he does indeed seem a bit "full of himself". He doesn't seem much different in person than he does in his movies. But in many ways, he also seems like a very down to earth guy in some ways. He's just a very unusual person. |
i dont know what his political views are about gun ownership really, but he is very active with some groups that are not really gun friendly. that is what i meant about him being "in character" the guys that were with him said that he is pretty much just what you see in his movies, i have met far bigger JOs i can tell you that. |
what does the Akido community say about the rumors of him supposedly fucking over a famous dojo just to further his carreer? |
He could kick me and Kellie Lebrocks assess at the same time. |
Seagal is hit and miss. He was the first American to run a successful dojo IN Japan. However it's also true he married into the family of the owners of the school. He's a very real deal martial artist but his claims to have been in the CIA during Vietnam are very much in doubt. And he runs like a girl. |
funny you say that, I don't give a damn one way or the other regarding Stevie, but I can't stand Nicolas Cage. He doesn't act, he's the same goober in every move. I find him really annoying and for the life of me can't see why he is considered a good actor. Even Sean Penn is a better actor. SoS |
|
Did anyone see Conan O'brian last night? Some guest on there said he saw Steven Siegal operating with a swat team in NOLA after Catrina, he approach Steven and steven said "I'm not here" and something to the effect "I'm just here to work". Honest to god, he was in uniform and everything, acting like a cop, the guy claimed he was even arresting people.
