Didn't see any '500' posts so I thought I'd put one up. I went to the race today and took the wife for her first time. It was a hot day (90 degrees +), but it was a really good race. I wished young Marco could have pulled off the win, however it just didn't happen. I'd have to say the highlight was being called a chauvanist by a bitter lady next to me because I booed Danica Patrick. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed their Sunday as much as I did. |

That was one exciting finish. I thought Michael Andretti was going to win, then Marco came through. Just when you think the race is set, Hornish slingshot right past in the last seconds. Must have broke Mario's heart. As far as Danica is concern, it's hard to take a female athelete serisouly when as soon as she get some notice she does cheesecake phto spreads. |
Danica has some talent, but it's almost as if the media and a majority of the fans thinks she's the only one out there. It sickens me. |
| We did the Danica thread earlier today: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=468524 |
Thanks. I read a little, and it seems people are willing to defend her to no end. |

Marco blew it. He did good all day, recovered from what should have been a crash, and led laps at the end, but he let up too soon instead of racing on until the end. His last lap was at 214(mph) and he had been running in the 217~218's. Hornish's last lap was a 220. |
How did he blow it? Do you know for a fact that he let up? I can almost gurantee he had the gas all the way to the floor - Hornish has just been faster all month, it's as simple as that. There is nothing Marco could have done short of intentionally blocking him and either: -cause a wreck -or get penalized and lose his 2nd place finish |
And it seems people are willing to attack her to no end. |
You got that right, and until she wins something I will continue to do so. |
