www.copswritingcops.com/home.html Interesting... LEOs complaining about receiving tickets from other LEOs excerpts:
So much for the law is the law, eh? |

I seem to have misplaced my tiny violin. Today I saw a cop make a sudden right turn to chase down and yell at a bicycle that had run a light (cop had the light, bike did not. Fair enough) When he was done, he put his lights on, backed up across the intersection, and made a reverse turn, to continue along his original travel path, and then turned off the lights, rather than just going around the block. Keep in mind that this was in the middle of NYC, not out in the sticks somewhere. Hope it wasn't Wave |
That is just normal practice and not so bad. |
Dunno, it looked pretty dangerous to me. His vision is reduced since he's backing up, and people entering the intersection aren't expecting a car coming from the wrong direction. Also since it's backing up, even people who see it coming may not process the fact that it's coming towards them as quickly as they would if it were driving forwards from the wrong direction. It also was not an emergency manuever, he just wanted to get back to the direction he had been driving instead of going around. If I pulled that move I'd get a ticket and a stern lecture. |
| I got two tickets when I was an active LEO. I didn't notify the officer I was LEO until after the transaction was completed. I always got the "If I had known...." I told them I wouldn't want them to compromise their integrity and I take the same chances as everybody else. |
32.69% of AR15.Com voters thinks cops are special and should have different rules. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=467787 Personally i look at speeding as a calculated economic risk. I drive as fast as i want to, with due reguard for the safety of others and accept that if caught I'll have to pay a fine. BFD. No point in crying about it if I knew the risks and chose to speed anyway. |

Cops will be cops, not all are bad, but many have a serious case of getting their personalities in line with general public's minimum expectations. Arrogance is not a worthy substitute for pride. What bothers me most isn't that they expected the nod and wink routine, but that they posted personal information, apparently as if this were SOP. These guys have a really bad case of Halo Effect, among other things. F |
