If someone is charged with Uttering and Publishing (check forgery), who is the victim -- the person on whose bank account the funds were withdrawn, or the bank? If the bank reimburses the person out the money, does that transfer the victim status?

Seems to me that the victim is the injured party, whomever that may be. Odd question...what's the difference whether you label a party a victim or not?

In MI, victim must be notified of all court proceedings, and has right to confer with prosecution. Also, has the right to make statement to the court at sentencing. A witness does not.
