| The Run for the Wall came through my uncles motorcycle dealership Wednesday night. They are an official stop for the ride. They feed the guys, change the oil on their bikes and do any other services just for donations, wash the bikes and they have live entertainment. The field beside the shop is where they can pitch their tents and sleep if they want to. Its always a pleasure to help out down there and meet some American hero's. |

Excellent post. I live near Pinelawn National Cemetary. Every year some amazing group of volunteers places a small flag at every single headstone. It is an incredibly moving scene, and it has never failed to make me cry to see the thousand upon thousands of flags, lined up in perfect rank and file, stretching to the horizon. It is really sad how commercialized memorial day has become. My hat is off to the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much for the rest of us. ![]() fish |
