So I am reading the record of the NFA hearings (which I posted in another thread) and I am reading the testimony of then AG Homer Cummings (FDR's AG) He makes an interesting statement that a great many people are enthusiastic about curing everything (dealing with crime) with legislation. Were all these folks then communists? Government can solve everything? I guess that is why FDR could get his quasi-Socialist agenda through Congress and with the approval of the public |
