Hope this isn't a dupe...I'll likely get e-beatings for this as it is.  Aside from the anti-Bush / anti-war subject matter and seemingly liberal stance of the narrator, what are your thoughts on the police tactics seen in this video? Seems like the bullshit considering how the illegal Messican protestors likely didn't get this kind of treatment. So if you are peacebly assembling and committing no crimes, you get fucked up and arrested, but if you are a felon, say you may have entered this country illegally for argument's sake, then the president of the US will go on national TV and praise and reward your activities. Standard to record evidence of leaders inciting criminal acts so they can later be charged. If you dont commit criminal acts in the protest, you don't have any worries. Protest cool, start violent shit. Not so cool. Plus, riot control is all about intimidation. You know, all 50 of the riot control personel versus the thousand of rioters. Its about using any psychological advantage that riot control officers can do to achieve that end. Peaceably assembling? I see thing more like inciting a riot. |

The idiot running the commentary seems to think that the people the cops are targeting (some with goggles on - expecting to be tear gassed!) aren't leaders... one even had a bullhorn! it always bugs me the way they actually think this is as bad as Nazi germany, most of those people dont realize how good they have it here i dont see any rioting going on, nor any chance of inciting a riot. and as for the whole "someone throwing a bottle," i dont buy that shit. every one of those people there would've made it painfully clear to everyone else not to do something stupid so that kind of thing doesnt happen. i see no justifiable reason why they should've been pushed back like that. being videotaped? yea sure go for it, i dont care if you tape me, i've got nothing to hide. and if i were to go do something that would look bad, it just being on tape would be the last of my worries if people are just demonstrating and not doing anything but standing around, leave em alone. tape all you want, but expect people to get edgy about it. hell, i'd get edgy if a bunch of cops showed up at a shooting range while im there and started taping everything. sure im not doing anything wrong but it'd still be uncomfortable. let them do their thing and go, don't anyone make a big deal about it and everything will go smoothly. looks to me like people on both sides need to lighten up. |

I like how when they were trying to get shots of the one guy hiding behind the corner...they kept saying how officer soandso knows him REALLY well, and they also mentioned telling his parole officer about his involvement. Funny how the narrator failed to mention that part, just about how they were watching him for "no reason". Yeah right. I hope the camps fill up with hippies...I'll even help round them up!

There's nothing those hippies love more, than to be beaten at protests. They WANT the police to ratchet things up. It makes them feel like they're one of the Chicago Seven, or something. That's why THEY bring their cameras, too. I dislike hippies, and encourage the police to beat them at every possible opportunity. They hate their country. Let them hate it because of the frequent beatings they receive, every time they burn a flag or call a soldier a murderer. |

I don't like hippy moonbats any better than you do, but its obvious from the footage of the police that the pushback was not in response to any action by the protestors. It was a pre-planned maneuver and they knew exactly how they would kick those people's asses. Remember your words when an anti-gun liberal is in power and those demonstrating for a strong RKBA are treated similarly. |
I don't remember seeing anything like this during the Brass Roots gatherings. Maybe we're just classier than the hippies...? I didn't go to any of the rallies but I still see bumper stickers around here from time to time. |
| The original post was about why this kind of police activity was not used to disperse the protests by illegal aliens. Protest a war which furthers the interests of the global elites and you get beaten and sprayed. Protest the law of the land as it relates to you as an illegal alien (with no right to redress the governement in the first place) and you are given a complete media package of love and sentiment to further your cause, because that is their (the global elites) cause also. |
I just dislike hippies. It has very little to do with their message. Their message is too trite to merit a beating. They deserve a beating, simply because they are hippies. It's more of an aesthetic thing. If you beat them purely for the joy of beating hippies, their 1st Amendment rights remain intact. 
If hippies demonstrate for RKBA, if hope that they are mercilessly beaten by the police, and by anyone in the vicinity who can find a decent stick. I told you, I don't like hippies. What are you gonna do?

Yeah sorry I didn't see any bottles, and a SINGLE bottle doesn't warrant that level of force. Granted I'm seeing cuts of video and they can be edited any number of ways, but as far as it's presented the cops were way outta line. And don't start with the permit crap. Permits are an awfully convinient way to disallow protests IMO. Further the one guy earlier who they were trying so hard to get on camera. Did I hear one right mention that the guy had a PO? Parole Officer? Were they going to submit this as a violation? Sorry guys. If you were there and you were protesting some new gun ban and got gassed I have a feeling you all would be 180 from the "freakin hippies!" crap your spouting now. No I'm not a hippy, not a communist, but if they feel that strongly about it they should be allowed their rights and we shouldn't be looking for loopholes to excuse gassing or beating them. They either have the right to protest or they dont. There isn't some halfway bullshit. Keep in mind that may be us out there soon if somebody like Hitlery gets elected and starts pushing bans again.
