ok, my dog is acting weird.   She is a 6 year old Boston Terrier and is fully potty-trained. LAtely she's been pissing on the floor. Not just a tinkle , but puddles and puddles. She has been drinking more water too. thanks.

I think you should specifically spell out the word veteranarian.  I clicked on this thinking you needed advice from a veteran.

Sounds like a possible bladder/urinary tract infection. Get her to a vet & if possible, take a urine sample.

Good luck!

Call your veterinarian. A simple health exam with bloodwork & urinalysis will rule out lots of common possibilities....Diabetes, bladder infections, etc.

The increased water drinking and urination sound like diabetes.  She may be pissing on the floor because she can't hold it any more.  Take her to a vet for an exam/bloodwork to get a concrete diagnosis.

I'd say since she isn't really straining to urinate or painful while urinating she's either in renal failure (kinda young for this) or has diabetes mellitus or possibly hyperadrenocorticism.  Is she urinating a lot at once or a small amount many times?  How about her appetite?  How is her coat (any hair loss?)  How long has this been going on?  Is she spayed?

Unspayed, no hairloss really, she's always had a thin coat. She's kinda fat also. She will piss ALOT at one time. This started 2 or 3 weeks ago. Actually no, It started the last time it rained in Arizona. I remember because we thought she didn't like rain. It is not everyday either its every couple days. Thanks.

and welcome to the board.

When was she last in heat?   Some bloodwork can rule out diabetes and renal failure pretty easily.  The hyperadrenocorticism takes a couple more tests to rule out.  Bostons are actually predisposed to HAC so this could be a possibility especially since she's a bit overweight.  Good news is that HAC and diabetes can be treated in most cases.  The progression of renal failure can usually be slowed as well.  Bottom line she should be seen by your vet.
